Les Paul Copy
It was probably your first guitar. You could call it a Les Paul "Copy". But it wasn't. There is something DISTINCT about a real Gibson Les Paul. Its sustain giving weight; its solid mahogany body with a carved maple cap construction; its super creamy PAF humbuckers. Yes its shape. The focus of this site, the Les Paul copy, looks like a Gibson. It has the single cutaway body with dual pickups. But it doesn't have the fat tone of a Gibson Les Paul. Or at least most don't. But that doesn't matter. There are plenty of Les Paul Copy guitars that sound great, look superb, and play like butter. And this site is dedicated to them - to all those (mostly) Japanese 'lawsuit' guitars built in the 1970s and 80s in the style of a Gibson, but with their own voices. Some were awesome, others were terrible. Welcome to the world of the Les Paul copy!

I??ve taken as many pictures as I can to show the scrapes and dings the guitar has. It is 48 years old after all.
It came into my ownership in the mid-90s in the same condition it??s in today: no pick guard and moved strap button, paint scraped off near the s / n neck bolt plate. There??s a little fret wear low down the neck but plenty... more

It's in very clean condition but obviously has age-related wear albeit fairly minor - with a number of dings / scratches / knocks. The wear to the frets is average and (in my opinion) they don't need any work. There is some buckle rash
